God speaks from the wild edges: in the Jordan River with John, in a righteous tree springing up in a clearcut, in Mary's song of liberation!

As we look towards Advent, which begins Sunday November 28, we anticipate a new year in the Church calendar.  The four Sundays preceding Christmas orient us towards the coming of God in the human one Jesus.  What are the implications for our life in Creation of this great story?

The weekly lectionary readings return us again and again to the wild edges.  To the wild edges of the Ancient Palestinian landscape, where John preaches baptism in the River Jordan.  To the wild edges of trees cut down and of righteous branches springing up.  To the wild edge of a baby born to a teenage mom in a rural outpost of the Roman empire.  And to a wild song, delivered by Mary, of a great God who brings justice for all creation.

Join us for this online pre-Advent workshop on Saturday November 27, 2021 from 10-2.

We will explore these themes in more depth and to take away some practices you might put into place to live more deeply into God’s call this Advent!
