16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances;for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5).
Through the year, a small group gathers on the first Friday of the month (generally) beginning at 7 pm. We join the great cloud of witnesses that scripture tells us is constantly praying, as we seek God's will and to offer prayers on behalf of his church. Our Curate, the Rev'd Christopher Samsom has been leading this time of prayer in recent months.
The Apostle Paul exhorts us to pray without ceasing—to be always praying. I would echo that encouragement, knowing that many of our parishioners already do. Pray! Many of our small groups include times of intercessory prayer in their meetings. That’s great. Pray! Many parishioners have personal prayer times. That’s great, too! Pray! I want to encourage everyone to set aside time for personal prayer.
It would be a great blessing if you would come. You would be blessed and encouraged in your praying for St Peter's ministries as well as for the church, community and world beyond our walls. And you would bless your fellow brothers and sisters in the faith by your presence and your prayers.
Let’s lift our hearts to God. Come and Pray!
