Hello St. Peters Parish,

As you are probably aware, I have accepted the invitation to coordinate and re-start our prayer chain that was so lovingly and capably administered by our dear sister Tricia for so many years. It is an honour to continue in her footsteps and a privilege to serve in this manner. The first challenge for me is to reconstruct a network of prayer warriors. I know our parish is filled with seasoned and dedicated prayers who have in the past, faithfully filled their call to this ministry. Prayer is at the heart of our faith as Christ’s followers and intercessory prayer at the heart of our call to mission and, as you know, God works powerfully through it. Though we are all called to prayer in general, God also calls and equips us for different ministries at particular times in our lives and I am writing to ask if you would prayerfully consider whether He is calling you to participate in this focussed prayer ministry that we call “the prayer chain.” If you are a seasoned prayer warrior that has participated in this ministry over the past years, I would very much like to hear from you. If you are just developing a heart for prayer and are feeling called to participate and learn more, I would very much like to hear from you too.

One thing the prayer chain does is respond to the immediate needs of those who ask for prayer for themselves or for others. Whether or not you are being called to participate in the prayer chain itself, please hold the ministry and its leadership in your prayers as we explore and discern the future vision that our Lord has for this ministry within our parish and wider community. If you have thoughts and ideas come to mind while you are praying about it, please share these with us. To share your input and/or to respond to the call to be part of the prayer chain itself, please contact me at prayer@stpeterscomox.ca

May our Lord richly bless this and all of the ministries we are called to within our Parish of St. Peters

Your Sister in Christ
