L’Arche Comox Valley is a community of people with and without developmental disabilites sharing life together and celebrating the unique value of each person, revealing each other’s gifts and recognizing our need for one another.
Battle of the Fans is an international lip sync contest led by people with intellectual disabilities. L'Arche Canada is the host of this brainchild.
L'Arche Comox Valley won the first round against L'Arche Japan so we in round 2 because we had more votes. This time we lip sync video to the song 'Be Our Guest' from Beauty and the Beast. It will be posted on Facebook and YouTube at 8 a.m. PDT.
This round we are up against L'Arche Saskatoon.
We need your help and the help of your circle to move forward. Voting for us is the way to move forward LCV to the next round. This happens in three ways:
liking the video and sharing it on Facebook (1 point);
liking the video on Youtube (2 points); and/or,
making a donation. Fifty percent of all donations will be sent to L'Arche communities in need.
I strongly encourage you to share this video with your widest possible circle. The video will brighten anyone's spirit in these gloomy days. We do also want to move on to the next round. People are enjoying making these videos so very much; let's keep their creativity shining!

April 22, 2021:
We’ve got a special fundraiser happening for Mother’s Day - Bake Mama Happy!, a zoom baking event. We’re excited about this event, first, because we love mothers, and second, because it’s a fun way to raise money to help adults with developmental disabilities reconnect. [see below for link to poster]
Here at L’Arche CV, we’re recognizing that people who participate in our programs in non-Covid times have been among the hardest hit by social restrictions. They are looking for connection and a sense of belonging in our community, and L’Arche CV wants to provide the space and the activities to make it happen.
We’d love if you could share this with the folks at your church. There are exciting plans for summer and fall at the I Belong Centre, and we’d love your support to make them reality. Proceeds from the event will provide funding to restart the social and recreational programs that are so important to both the people who participate in our programs and the many volunteers who have also found a place to belong at the IBC.
