Highlights: Council met on January 18. Opening with this beautiful Franciscan version of the Lord's prayer. Re services: traditional Holy Communion Service (also known as the 8:30 service) will be offered on the third Sunday of each month. In addition, a simple traditional service will be held on Wednesday February 9th at 10am. There will not be two Sunday services, although adding one in future is still planned. Partners in Mission: we recently asked for nominations for organizations St Peter's can partner in the form of monetary donations. From this process it began to be clear there may be a more engaging way of doing what we had already been doing, as we honour God's call to be generous givers. We have some exciting news to share with you in this regard, in the form of a new model of coming alongside a variety of Partners in Mission, enabling us all to engage more consciously with the work such organisations do. Details to come. Financial Update: December was one of two months in the year we exceeded our budgeted offerings. For the year, offerings were about $20,000 below budget. In the year, income slightly exceeded the budget estimate but it included the Anglican Foundation grant for Comox Valley Youth. Pandemic considerations led to holding expenses to a minimum. It was a good year despite its “ups and downs”. Many thanks to all members of the parish family who contributed to a successful 2021!
