Message from the Warden’s Corner…
When circumstances in our life or in the life of our church suddenly shift, we usually experience a degree of initial concern about what will happen next and how the changes might impact us. Questions surface in our thoughts such as “ What will happen next?” and “Will the things that matter most continue?” or “What can I do to help?” It is at this junction that we find ourselves presented with a choice to either let these concerns dominate us or if we will be ruled instead by God’s peace. In the coming months we will go on a journey together in the search for a new Incumbent Rector. With the Holy Spirit to guide our steps and to also guide the person who is meant to be our next Rector, we can choose to set aside worries for the future and, instead, allow His peace to rule in our hearts. The Search Committee met this week to start preparing a “profile” pamphlet containing information about our parish to send to those who express interest in applying to be St Peter’s new Rector. After we complete and distribute this “profile” pamphlet, there will be an opportunity and a process for everyone to give their input and share our hopes and wishes for St. Peters in the future. Please continue to pray for the Search Committee, Canon Jenny and Bishop Anna on this journey with you. Paul wrote to the Colossian church “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body, you were called to peace”. (Col 3:15). So too, let us be as one Body and be ruled by His peace on the journey ahead. |
