Donations for Food Shelf

Donations for Food Shelf

Right now we'd particularly appreciate donations of canned food items, such as vegetables or fruit.

We are also in need of rice, peanut butter and jam, cookies or crackers and snack food.

Thank you to everyone who's been stopping by with food!

Flowers for the Sanctuary

Flowers for the Sanctuary

A small group has been created to provide flowers for the sanctuary every week, starting on Easter Sunday. We would be delighted to have a couple more people join us in this flower ministry. Please speak to Yvonne Oldaker or Linda Hughes if you're interested.

Donations to help cover the cost of Easter flowers will be gratefully received.

Donations may also be made to cover the cost of flowers on future Sundays for an important personal celebration or in memory of a loved one. A sign up book will be placed in the entrance to the church, to indicate which Sunday you'd like to pay for flowers and in whose memory they are given.

Please place the money in the offertory plate in an envelope with your name and indicate it is for flowers. This will be added to your year-end tax receipt.  If you would prefer to provide your own flowers please speak to a member of the flower group.

I'll Sleep Awhile..........

I'll sleep awhile like Lazarus of old,
Ensconced in burial shroud and frigid tomb.
The cry that 'Jesus comes' will make me bold
Unloose my shackles and dispel the gloom.
The anguish of my darkest night is past
As fiendish fancies wend their irksome way;
Faint stirrings of the dawn I feel at last
And with it hope, of Resurrection day.
I hear the distant rumbling of the stone
Like some distempered creature roused from sleep,
Its violent protestations pierce the bone
At losing one, it can no longer keep.
I'll pack my rags and bid farewell to night,
And live a life of splendour, in the light.
