There will be a meeting held for everyone in the music ministry in the church at St. Peters at 2pm.

It’s an opportunity for musicians and singers from both services to get together and discuss any concerns or suggestions they may have.

There will be a meeting at 10:00 am between services to discuss beginning our walks for this year.

If you are interested in joining the group or have ideas for hikes please attend the meeting. 

Mickey Girard will be there to set up a schedule for the coming months.  Let’s get out together and enjoy this beautiful valley.

The Men and Women's Bible Studies will take place at 10:30am in the hall. 

Rev Irene Gifford-Cole will lead the Compline Service starting at 7:00pm.

Douglas Porter, loving husband of Catherine Porter, passed away in his sleep on April 14 th at the age 82 and now rests in the arms of Jesus. Doug was diagnosed with metastatic prostatecancer in December 2024.

Doug was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK and emigrated to Canada in 1969. He was a born and bred Methodist and trained as a Methodist lay preacher. He met Catherine at a United Church and we enjoyed 46 years of marriage together.

Doug enjoyed a long career as a graphic designer and his most well-known work is the Canuck’s classic “Flying Skate” logo which he designed in the late 70s. Doug also designed the current St. Peter’s logo featuring the Comox Glacier. Apart from that his key contribution to St. Peter’s was to allow Catherine to spend so much time volunteering there!

After retiring Doug took up watercolour painting. He loved mowing lawns and chose our current house for its vast lawn.

Right now we'd particularly appreciate donations of canned food items, such as vegetables or fruit. 

We are also in need of rice, peanut butter and jam, cookies or crackers and snack food.
