A few people have recently asked whether we can improve the assisted-listening system in the church. Our current FM radio system is rather dated. I’m not sure when it was installed at St Peter’s, but technologically it is a little like watching an old
black-and-white television.

Personal hearing aids and implants have advanced considerably. Many can now connect directly to smartphones and filter out background noise. Even so, some people still find it difficult to hear our services, and we want everyone to feel included.

Newer assisted-listening technologies are available for public spaces. One well-established option is a telecoil hearing loop, which transmits sound from the church sound system directly to compatible hearing devices. A newer technology, Auracast, is also emerging
as an important standard.

If you use a personal hearing device, or are considering getting one, we would be grateful if you would complete a short survey to help us plan for the future. Surveys will be available in church on Sunday morning and from the church office. Please return completed surveys
by Sunday 29th August.

The Women's Bible Study will resume Monday, August 31 at 10:30am in the hall, where we will continue our study of Matthew 16. 

On July 5 we had a lovely service, a tour/blessing of the rectory, followed by tea and treats to honour Alan and acknowledge all that he has done for St. Peter’s in the past year. He was a true Sheperd.

Alan was gifted an engraved wooden walking stick, Diana a colorful brimmed hat, and Trixie a bejewelled collar.

They were also presented with a wooden birdhouse, a ‘little’ replica of St. Peter’s church, to recognize Alan’s love of birds.

The birdhouse was lovingly built by Beck Flentjar, who does this type of work as a hobby. 

The logo for the birdhouse was organized by Catherine Porter in memory of Doug, making this gift extra special.

What We Need Most:

• Summer Clothing: Clean, gently used clothes for men, women, and children.
• Housewares: Small kitchen appliances, dishes, utensils, and cookware.

By donating your items, you directly support local families and individuals who rely on our boutique for affordable, high-quality essentials.

Right now we'd particularly appreciate donations of mayonnaise, condiments, spaghetti, pasta sauce, peanut butter, body wash and shampoo.

We are also in need of cereal, rice, jam, canned food items, such as tuna, vegetables or fruit, cookies or crackers and snack food.
