Boyd will be starting on March 17, 2026 and will be training with Sara for two weeks, before she leaves to prepare for school in Victoria at the beginning of May.

Boyd is from this area, but spent many years in Calgary managing an Ink Jet franchise. He and his family have recently returned, after his "retirement", and he is anxious to become involved in the community.

Our opportunity was just right for him and he brings a wide range of administrative and technical skills to St. Peter's. We are very much looking forward to Boyd joining us!

When Owls...

When owls hurl out their cries into the night
And darkened forests heave with creaks and groans.
When timid creatures bow their heads with fright,
Rude fears return to sound their hideous moans.
The peace once known is gone and hope grows dim,
And faith itself is shrivelled and forlorn.
No more can reason blot the doubts within
Nor slick hypotheses like truths be worn.
Then all is vain? I’ll cease to thrash and flail
As deep into the slough I sink and slip.
Lord send your welcome breeze to fill the sail
Of my beleaguered, battered sailing ship.
And with the yearning of a stricken land
I’ll yield my bruises to your healing hand.

Intercessions from St Peter's, March 8, 2026

Intercessions from St Peter's, March 8, 2026

Last Sunday, in his Prayers for the People, Tony shared a prayer (author unknown) from the volume of printed prayers at the front of the church. A number of people asked for a copy, so we wanted to share it here.

Jesus, Word of the Father, speak for those who have no voice and stand by powerless while others play with their lives.
Lord, graciously hear us.

Jesus, Child of Bethlehem, remember now those children who are born to struggle, whose mothers have no milk and whose fathers have no bread.
Lord, graciously hear us.

Jesus, refugee in Egypt, remember those who have been terrorized out of their homes and now try to sing their own song in a foreign land.
Lord, graciously hear us.

Jesus, Carpenter of Nazareth, remember now those who work with their hands but see their jobs being taken over by computers and technology.
Lord, graciously hear us.

Jesus, teacher of Galilee, remember now those children who think they cannot learn, that success is always for someone else, that theirs’s is a lost cause.
Lord, graciously hear us.

Jesus, friend of the poor, be a friend to those invisible poor in our neighborhood, those we never notice, the empty and the lonely ones, the exhausted and silent ones.
Lord, graciously hear us.

Jesus, healer of the sick remember now our broken humanity, and touch with your tender love all those who cannot trust their bodies to be whole.
Lord, graciously hear us.

Jesus, light of the world, remember now those who sight is growing dim, and who fear the dying of the light.
Lord, graciously hear us.

Jesus, profit of Jerusalem, speak judgment to our complacency, cry aloud to our disobedience, that the manipulator, the torturer, the abuser, the destroyer, may turn back to your ways of justice and peace.
Lord, graciously hear us.

Jesus, victim on the cross, remember well those who hang there beside you, martyrs and fools, heroes and villains, victims of murderous regimes and people who were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Lord, graciously hear us.

Jesus Christ, ascended Lord, work through and watch over our bewildered society, that the kingdoms of this world may become the Kingdom of our God and of His Christ.
Lord, graciously hear us.

Jesus Christ, Lord of all, Son of Righteousness, Rock of Ages, Lamb of God, Living Water, True Vine, Day Spring, Messiah, Lord and King.

Come again, come again in glory.

Amen.
