Partners in Mission for FebruaryColdest Night of the Year, February 28, 2026 In three weeks our St. Peter’s Coldest Night of the Year team will brave the elements and walk 5 kilometers in support of the hurting and unhoused in the Comox Valley. The two not-for-profit agencies that CNOY supports here in the Valley are the Comox Valley Transition Society and Dawn to Dawn Action Against Homelessness Society. Our vision here at St. Peter’s is to reflect the love of Jesus; to be caring, inclusive and just. And the reading from Micah that was read last Sunday reminds us of our mandate to do justice and to love kindness, in other words: to care for our neighbours in need. Fundraising to care for the hungry, hurt and unhoused in the Valley through by means of this walk is one way we work out this vision. This week the spotlight is on Dawn to Dawn Action Against Homelessness Society. Dawn to Dawn enters into tenancy agreements with landlords who have available market housing. They become the tenant, and take responsibility for the units, including furnishing and household goods, establishing rental payments and connecting utilities like Hydro. They then place unhoused people into those homes. Residents are supported by an outreach worker, who assists residents in becoming settled and establishing the sort of routines that create stable living. Rent is paid directly to Dawn to Dawn by the Ministry of Social Development. It’s a win-win for all. Please join our walking team, or if winter walks are not your thing, then support this worthy cause by donating to one of our team members. Here is the link to our donation page, just scroll down and click on the circle next to one of the walkers: For more infomation visit: https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/TeamFundraisingPage.aspx?teamID=1040662

Warden's Corner
St Paul, in his message to the church at Corinth, declared that “God loves a cheerful giver” and, as Rector’s Warden, I have witnessed our members repeatedly giving generously anonymously of their time and abilities in acts of service and caring for one another and our local community. I am especially thankful for the dedication of our current parish council members who have given generously of their time this year to serve from place of grace and not debt. I am also thankful for Wardens Jim Peacock and Denny Beeman and Facilities Manager, Peter Sidey, who are stepping down this year after faithful service on Council. This month, at the Annual Vestry Meeting, we will again elect a Parish Council to oversee the various areas of operation and ministry at St Peter’s. Please join me in praying that the right people will come forward and be chosen to serve on Council this coming year as we "forget what lies behind and press on toward the upward call in Christ Jesus." People interested in our Parish Council can find out more about it by contacting Jonathan Hocking or myself. Maranatha! |

Donations for Food Shelf
Our food cupboard in the hall is working well with neighbours in need making good use of it. However we are getting low on some supplies, particularly canned tomatoes, fruit and vegetables, also canned salmon and soup. If anyone could supply some of the above it would be very much appreciated. |
