Incumbent Announcement
To be read aloud and shared via all digital channels to the parish of St. Peter, Comox, on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Dear friends, I am pleased to announce that I have appointed the Rev. Francis Delaplain as incumbent of St. Peter’s, Comox, effective July 1, 2026. Francis will move to Comox from Hay River in the Northwest Territories. He has served as Rector of St. Andrew’s in Hay River since 2016, where he has led multiple outreach initiatives including weekly food programs and support during fire and flood evacuations. He has also connected with young people in the community, growing the youth group to about 30 regular attenders. He is also a regular contributor to CBC’s program, The Weekender, based in Yellowknife. Francis shared his attraction to St. Peter’s worship and outreach in his response to your parish profile, saying “I am aware that there is such a spiritual need for people to experience the hope and life of God expressed within the Christian community. I am convinced that the Church has something unique to offer its neighbours simply by living out the call of Jesus.” Francis and his family will be moving to Comox this summer and joining you on July 1. I’m grateful for Alan’s steady and wise leadership through this transition and that he is willing to continue serving St. Peter’s until Francis arrives. I’m also grateful to Jenny Replogle who has worked with the search committee and candidates to discern the right person to share in ministry with you in this next season of your life together. I look forward to witnessing how, together, you will continue the ministry of the church and I trust that you will uphold Francis in prayers in the coming months. Peace, The Right Rev Anna Greenwood-Lee |

Partners in Mission for FebruaryColdest Night of the Year, February 28, 2026 Next week our St. Peter’s Coldest Night of the Year team will brave the elements and walk 5 kilometers in support of the hurting and unhoused in the Comox Valley. The two not-for-profit agencies that CNOY supports here in the Valley are the Comox Valley Transition Society and Dawn to Dawn Action Against Homelessness Society. Our vision here at St. Peter’s is to reflect the love of Jesus; to be caring, inclusive and just. And the reading from Micah that was read last Sunday reminds us of our mandate to do justice and to love kindness, in other words: to care for our neighbours in need. Fundraising to care for the hungry, hurt and unhoused in the Valley through by means of this walk is one way we work out this vision. Please join our walking team or if winter walks are not your thing, then support this worthy cause by donating to one of our team members. Here is the link to our donation page, just scroll down and click on the circle next to one of the walkers: For more infomation visit: https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/TeamFundraisingPage.aspx?teamID=1040662

Parishioner's CornerStray Cat You came like soft rose petals,
Blown zig-zag by a summer breeze
And snugly found yourself a place
In the recess of my mind.
For quite a while I didn’t know
That I had company in that secure part of me,
Where I am king
And lord of my domain.
I thought that I would fight and keep you out,
And make you sit and wait
Beyond the gate;
For trespassers are not quite welcomed here.
The wall I built about me- so I thought,
Would keep me safe,
But brick by brick,
It fell in such a heap.
And then I saw you- my trespasser;
Clothed in the velvet of the darkest night,
With moonlit eyes,
And pyramid pointed ears.
Crooning and purring about my feet
With curved back, yearning to be stroked.
My reason pleaded that I keep you out,
My heart entreated that I let you in.
idris rees hughes,
comox.
