Coffee Hour Update
Starting on Sunday March 1, because we do not enough people to run the coffee hour after the 10:30 service, the coffee and goodies will have to be suspended for a while. The advantage of this is that the whole congregation could have coffee together between the 2 services, which would be very nice. The disadvantage is that the 10:30 people will have to come a little earlier for their refreshments and we will need help with the clearing up. If a couple of people could donate an hour per month to help with the serving and clearing up, we would be delighted to resume coffee after the 10:30 service. Please consider this, and contact the office. In the meantime come and let us enjoy coffee together. |

From the Warden's Suggestion Box...
It says in Ecclesiastes that "there is a season for everything under heaven" and, apparently, that includes cleaning! With the increased coming and goings these days of our renters, parishioners and community visitors through our buildings, we now need more cleaning. The good news is that, starting next week, a new cleaning service will provide an initial "deep clean" of our sanctuary and church hall followed by increased weekly service routines to keep our spaces looking and feeling fresh in all seasons. |

Partners in Mission for FebruaryColdest Night of the Year, February 28, 2026 In two weeks our St. Peter’s Coldest Night of the Year team will brave the elements and walk 5 kilometers in support of the hurting and unhoused in the Comox Valley. The two not-for-profit agencies that CNOY supports here in the Valley are the Comox Valley Transition Society and Dawn to Dawn Action Against Homelessness Society. Our vision here at St. Peter’s is to reflect the love of Jesus; to be caring, inclusive and just. And the reading from Micah that was read last Sunday reminds us of our mandate to do justice and to love kindness, in other words: to care for our neighbours in need. Fundraising to care for the hungry, hurt and unhoused in the Valley through by means of this walk is one way we work out this vision. This week the spotlight is on the Comox Valley Transition Society. They work with women, children and families. Their temporary emergency shelter, Lilli House, supports women seeking safety from violence abuse and threats, while Amethyst House supports women dealing with substance use. The Lodge and Connect Centre provide meals, showers, laundry and emergency housing for the unhoused. They also have staff who are available to help victims of sexual assault navigate the criminal justice system. Please join our walking team or if winter walks are not your thing, then support this worthy cause by donating to one of our team members. Here is the link to our donation page, just scroll down and click on the circle next to one of the walkers: For more infomation visit: https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/TeamFundraisingPage.aspx?teamID=1040662

Warden's Corner
St Paul, in his message to the church at Corinth, declared that “God loves a cheerful giver” and, as Rector’s Warden, I have witnessed our members repeatedly giving generously anonymously of their time and abilities in acts of service and caring for one another and our local community. I am especially thankful for the dedication of our current parish council members who have given generously of their time this year to serve from place of grace and not debt. I am also thankful for Wardens Jim Peacock and Denny Beeman and Facilities Manager, Peter Sidey, who are stepping down this year after faithful service on Council. This month, at the Annual Vestry Meeting, we will again elect a Parish Council to oversee the various areas of operation and ministry at St Peter’s. Please join me in praying that the right people will come forward and be chosen to serve on Council this coming year as we "forget what lies behind and press on toward the upward call in Christ Jesus." People interested in our Parish Council can find out more about it by contacting Jonathan Hocking or myself. Maranatha! |
