On this Friday, December 5 from noon until 1:00 we will be serving a traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. Everyone is welcome.

Saturday, December 6

There is a choir practice this Saturday at 1:30 in the church sanctuary.

The choir will be preparing for the Carol Service on December 14.

Monday, December 8

The men and women's Bible studies take place on Mondays in the hall from 10:30 to 11:30 am. This will be the last study until the new year.

The women's study will be continuing with Romans. 

The men's study will be continuing with Genesis.

Wednesday, December 10

I (Sara) apologize for getting it wrong in last week's newsletter. This is the week that there will be dinner before Compline. 

Rev Irene Gifford-Cole will lead the Compline Service starting at 7:00 pm. The potluck starts at 5:30 pm. Please let Irene know if you're planning on coming for the meal!

On Saturday, December 13 we will be decorating the church in time for the Carol Service on 14th. If you would like to help, please come along around 11:00 am, all hands are welcome!

You’re invited to come and sing carols by candlelight at a 9 Lessons & Carols service at St. Peter’s on Dec 14th at 7:00 pm. Mulled wine and goodies will be served beforehand in the hall starting at 6:00 pm to warm your voices and hearts as we begin to celebrate Christ’s birth into our world.

Our Partner in Mission for November and December

L’Arche Comox Valley

L’Arche is a non-profit that's been in the heart of Courtenay since 2000. Best known as a place of belonging, L'Arche's work is simple. They invite people with and without disabilities to come together to build community. L’Arche is widely recognized for its success in building vibrant communities and welcoming homes for people with intellectual disabilities, both in the Comox Valley and around the world.  L’Arche is currently fundraising for the construction of more safe, affordable housing in the Comox Valley.

L'Arche will be holding a Cookie Walk and Mini Christmas Market. Buy a bakery box for $15 (cash), walk by over 90 dozen homemade Christmas cookies and make your selections. All funds raised will go towards the Anchorage Fund. The Anchorage project will provide 16 safe and affordable homes with a live in assistant.
