From the Warden's Corner...

Some of you may have already heard that Sara will soon be leaving us as St Peter’s Administrative Assistant in April 2026 to enter a two-year program in ultra-sonography at Camosun College in Victoria. Thankfully Sara has given us plenty of notice and we will begin advertising right away in January for her replacement.

We will greatly miss her cheerful presence in the office as well as her ability to “keep all the admin balls in the air” in our parish office. That said, please join me in congratulating Sara. I am thrilled she is able to follow her dream of becoming an Ultra Sonographer. Ultra-Sonographers are much needed in our health care system!

I Saw Your Star

Matthew 2:2. “We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.”

I saw your star in the evening sky
And I stopped to wonder.
Yes, I stopped to wonder and gaze
Because I had not seen your light before.
This was my very first glance
Since time began.
Was I the only one to see you
Or did I share with others
Your gentle light?
Dare I think that you could see me
In my sea of faces?
Most certainly I could see you
In your sea of stars.
Yet it was not your light alone
That drew me,
But that inexorable impulse that told me
That you too, would draw me again
To the miracle of the stable
In Bethlehem.

Blue Christmas Service at St John the Divine

Blue Christmas Service at St John the Divine

Sunday, December 21

St. John the Divine Anglican Church invites the community to a Blue Christmas Service on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 4:00 p.m.

This service, held on the Winter Solstice (the darkest night of the year) offers acknowledgement that the holiday season can be difficult for many. It also carries a quiet message of hope as we move toward brighter days.

Music will be offered by the Threshold Choir, a local group known for their compassionate voices and calming, heart-centered songs. Their selections are chosen to bring serenity and comfort to people of all backgrounds and spiritual paths.
