From the Warden's Corner...

From the Warden's Corner...

As 2025 draws to a close, it is, once again, time to begin preparing for our Annual Vestry Meeting (AVM) in February. Accordingly, the Wardens and Rev Alan have asked the following persons if they would be willing to form a nominations committee whose role it will be to recommend a Parish Council slate for ratification at the AVM . Our nominations committee for 2026 will be:

Jonathan Hocking
Avril Revel
Connie Treen

I would like to express my gratitude for this past year’s Parish Council who have worked tirelessly and brilliantly together to support our Parish through a time of transition following Rev Sulin’s departure. Next year’s Council will face challenges as well as we continue the search for a new Rector. Being a member of Parish Council is an important ministry so please pray for the formation of a strong and unified team again this coming year.

David Duncan, as our Council Secretary, will be providing us with more information in January on the 2026 nominations process.

Until then, may the Peace of Christ rule in our hearts and minds this Christmas.

Blue Christmas Service at St John the Divine

Blue Christmas Service at St John the Divine

Sunday, December 21

St. John the Divine Anglican Church invites the community to a Blue Christmas Service on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 4:00 p.m.

This service, held on the Winter Solstice (the darkest night of the year) offers acknowledgement that the holiday season can be difficult for many. It also carries a quiet message of hope as we move toward brighter days.

Music will be offered by the Threshold Choir, a local group known for their compassionate voices and calming, heart-centered songs. Their selections are chosen to bring serenity and comfort to people of all backgrounds and spiritual paths.
