Instead of having the regular 540 service on September 21, we will be going out into the community in support of L'Arche at their annual Harvest Hootenanny and Pig Roast. When we last had a planning meeting that was open to the whole community, we reflected on what a rich experience it was to go out together as a community and support a great cause that reflected God's love to the world.  Most of us participated in the walk last spring to support the Transition Society as it was recovering from a disastrous fire.  It was decided at that time to do the same again by supporting L'Arche Comox Valley, a community that many of our parish participate in and support. Their annual Harvest Hootenanny and Pig Roast will take place at the hall associated with Christ the King Catholic Church on September 21 at 6 pm.  Tickets are $20 a head and $50 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children and will be available at the 540.
