To be read aloud and shared via all digital channels to the parish of St. Peter, Comox, on Sunday, February 15, 2026.
Dear friends,
I am pleased to announce that I have appointed the Rev. Francis Delaplain as incumbent of St. Peter’s, Comox, effective July 1, 2026.
Francis will move to Comox from Hay River in the Northwest Territories. He has served as Rector of St. Andrew’s in Hay River since 2016, where he has led multiple outreach initiatives including weekly food programs and support during fire and flood evacuations. He has also connected with young people in the community, growing the youth group to about 30 regular attenders. He is also a regular contributor to CBC’s program, The Weekender, based in Yellowknife.
Francis shared his attraction to St. Peter’s worship and outreach in his response to your parish profile, saying “I am aware that there is such a spiritual need for people to experience the hope and life of God expressed within the Christian community. I am convinced that the Church has something unique to offer its neighbours simply by living out the call of Jesus.”
Francis and his family will be moving to Comox this summer and joining you on July 1. I’m grateful for Alan’s steady and wise leadership through this transition and that he is willing to continue serving St. Peter’s until Francis arrives. I’m also grateful to Jenny Replogle who has worked with the search committee and candidates to discern the right person to share in ministry with you in this next season of your life together.
I look forward to witnessing how, together, you will continue the ministry of the church and I trust that you will uphold Francis in prayers in the coming months.
Peace,
The Right Rev Anna Greenwood-Lee
bishop
